BB Italia Srl e Steinert GmbH

Innovative, efficient and tailor-made – this is the summary after the successful order of a renowned Italian large-scale project. The period of only 4 months from the initial briefing to the final signing of the contract is the result of a perfect collaboration.

Consulting competence as the key to success
The project started with an intensive briefing to understand the customer’s challenges and quickly led to the STEINERT test center in Cologne to prove all specific requirements with strong facts and figures. With our excellent network of specialists, we were able to plan the entire plant in a very short time. The result of this successful cooperation is a first-class metal recycling plant that will increase the customer’s production capacities and recover valuable resources.

Efficient sorting lines with groundbreaking technology
The project includes the equipping of two sorting lines for the separation of ZORBA and ZURIK metal fractions. In addition to the proven STEINERT EddyC eddy current separators, we of course also use sorting systems with X-ray technology.

A STEINERT XSS T EVO 5.0 system for separating aluminium and heavy metals using X-ray transmission (XRT) is used first to sort the ZORBA and ZURIK metal streams. Next, the resulting heavy metal mixtures will run through sorting systems with X-ray fluorescence technology (XRF). The sorting of heavy metal concentrates according to metal types such as zinc, copper and brass or the enrichment of stainless steel is carried out here by the STEINERT CHUTEC or the STEINERT KSS | XF CLI.

Gratitude to our team and our customers
Karl Hoffmann, Global Sales Director of the Metal Recycling Division: “Such a project would hardly have been possible without the dedication and expertise of our team. Special thanks go to our Italian representative Barbara Belletti as well as our Head of Regional Sales Sascha Haag, both of whom put their heart and soul into working out a perfect solution. We would also like to thank our customer for their trust and cooperation, which made this project a real success.”
